Dear Parents,
Rosh Hodesh Adar is coming this Monday! As part of our
special Rosh Chodesh program, please send your child with a funny
hat to wear (it can be a special hat, funny hat, or any hat). Each student
will receive a Hamantashen " אוזן המן" as a treat.
Cursive Hebrew letters:
This week we started learning how to write cursive Hebrew letters.
The students focused on forming the letters correctly and reading words written
in cursive script. This week, we reviewed the first three letters, up to “ג”.
Purim Project-Need your help:
Please send to school an empty big size “Pringels”
can. ( If you can send more then one that will be great!) We
needs 6 more.
“My library” הַסִפְרִיָה שֶלִי "
This week’s book is called:"שַרונה אוֹהבת אדום" -“Sharona Ohevet Adom” (Sharona Loves
Red).
We read this book as a continuation of our unit "מָה בַכִּיתָה? (What is in the classroom?). Each
student got to color his or her own book. (If your child didn’t finish coloring
the book, please let him/her finish it at home).
Please encourage your child to read it aloud to you over the
weekend. It is a great way to practice all the vocabulary we have learned in
this unit.
“Chag HaSiddur”
“Chag Hasiddur” is getting closer!
Please plan to join us for this exciting event on Thursday, Mar
23 at 9:30am.
Please email me a short message for your child to be placed as a
dedication in his /her siddur. If you need ideas, here is an example:
Dear ________
We are very proud of you.
We hope you use this siddur to help you
build a relationship with Hashem that will help you throughout your life. We
love you.
Ariot:
This week Ariot is going to Chanale’s home.
Hebrew workbook:
This week we almost finished our workbook which teaches about the
vowel “Holam” (the “O” sound). We learned to read and spell words with all four
of the vowels we have learned (“Ah”, “Ei” ,“Eh” and “O”).
Parashat HaShavua:
This Friday you will find in your child’s folder a picture with a
summary of the story of Parashat “משפטים”. We learned that Moses gave many of G-d's laws to
B’nai Yisrael such as “be careful not to lie” as well as the laws of paying for
any damages you cause to another’s property. We learned about the four ways a
person can damage another’s property and have to pay: If he/she damages an
animal, if they spill or leave out something where someone can trip, or if your
fire causes damages, then you are responsible for paying.
This is our word list from the first story in the Ariot 3
workbook.
The test will be on Thursday 3/2/17.
