Dear Parents,
Even though we had a snow day on
Rosh Hodesh Adar, this week we marked it by getting Hamantashen " אֹזֶן המן " from Moreh
Dror to eat. It was very Yummy!
Yesterday we had a wonderful
program lead by students from High school Yeshivat Beney Akiva “Bet Yehudah”
from Kfar Maymon in Israel .
We sang Purim songs together and they asked us Purim questions.
Of course, the first graders knew
all the answers.
Hebrew
reading:
Last week we finished our reading
program. This program has strengthened everyone’s reading skills and taught the
important skill of sounding out and writing Hebrew words. This means every
student can read any Hebrew word with all of the vowels as well as write any
Hebrew word with any vowels! Wow!
I’m very proud of everyone’s accomplishments!
I am sending home the workbook for you to keep. Please encourage your child to
go over the unit with you and read all the words.
Purim Project:
Please send to school
an empty “Pringels” can. ( If you can send more then one that will be great!) It
supposed to be easier then sending Pictures.
Purim:
We started the story
of the Megillah. Next week we will place it in our “Pringels”
can. (Only if I have enough cans).
Please keep sending more “Pringels”
cans.
Cursive Hebrew
letters:
This week we started
to learn how to write cursive Hebrew letters. The students focused on forming
the letters correctly and reading words written in cursive script. This week,
we reviewed the letters up to “ד”.
א=א
ב=ב
ג=ג
ד=ד
Ariot:
This week Ariot is
going to Rena’s home.
“My library” הַסִפְרִיָה שֶלִי "
This week’s book is
called:"וְנַהֲפוֹךְ
הוּא"- Ve’ na ha
foch Hoo- (the opposite!)
Please encourage your
child to read it aloud to you over the weekend.
It is a great way to practice all the vocabulary we have learned and
will learn.
Homework:
Some children are
still having trouble getting their homework notebook back to school on time.
Please make sure your
child is writing his/her homework with pencil only!
Please make sure the
homework notebook in placed back into your child’s backpack.
It is extremely
important to have it in class on time, otherwise I can’t post their homework.
Parashat Hashavua:
This Friday you will find in your
child’s folder a picture page with a summary of Tetaveh - תצוה"”. We learned about the Kohen Gadol 8 different garments
he wore and the 4 garments the regular Kohen wore.
Vocabulary words:
This is our word list.
The test will be on Thursday 3/5/15.
