בס"ד
Dear Parents,
This week we had an
exciting time celebrating Chanukah! We lit the Chanukiah every day in our
classroom. We said the B’racha and sang “Hanerot Halalu”.
Yesterday we celebrated a
Chanukah Party with kindergarten and each student got to make his own “sevivon”
(dreidel).
W also had a lot of fun
at the Hanukkah carnival today.
Hannukkah
projects:
We got to color our own
Chanukiya that I bought from Israel
if you didn’t get it
yet, please look in your child’s backpack.
Hagim (Holidays):
We learned about the
different of the Israeli’s dreidels and out of Israel dreidels. (Please
read the story “"אְרִיאוֹת וְהַסְבִיבוֹנִים (Ariot and the dreidels).
Hebrew
Sentence of the week:
_____כַּמָה נֵרוֹת אֲנַחְנוּ מַדְלִיקִים בַּלַיְלָה הַ
(How many candles do we
light on the _____ night).
We are singing this song
every day of Chanukah.

Please make sure your child is writing his/her homework with pencil only!
Please make sure the homework notebook in placed back into your child’s backpack.
It is extremely important to have it in class on time, otherwise I can’t post their homework for the next day.

First Grade Album:
I still need two of the
following pictures (4”x6”) ASAP.
1. A picture of the
outside of your child’s house.
2. A picture of your child’s
family (a group picture of as many members of the family as possible).
These pictures are very
important for our learning in the class!
Please send them in. You
can Email me the picture and I will print it.
Ariot:
This week Ariot is going
to Gevah’s home.
Hebrew workbook:
This week we stared our
workbook which teaches about the vowel “Holam” (the long O sound). We learned
to spell words with all of the vowels we have learned so far.
“My
library” הַסִפְרִיָה שֶלִי "- A Special story for Chanukah
In your child’s folder
you will find a story called: “"אְרִיאוֹת
וְהַסְבִיבוֹנִים (Ariot
and the dreidels). This story serves as a good exercise for your child’s Hebrew
reading and for practicing their vocabulary. Please review this story with your
child.
This week we also worked
on a book called:"שַרונה אוֹהבת אדום" -“Sharona Ohevet Adom” (Sharona
Loves Red). This book is very similar to last week’s book:”Shahar O’hev Kahol”.
We read this book as a
continuation of our unit of “"מָה בַכִּיתָה? (What is in the classroom?). Each
student got to write the missing words in his/her book and color his/ her own
book. (If your child didn’t finish coloring the book, please let him/her finish
it at home).
Please encourage your
child to read it aloud to you over the weeken and to share with you their work.
It is a great way to practice all the vocabulary we have learned in this unit.
Please keep this book at home.
Parashat
Hashavua:
This Friday you will
find in your child’s folder a picture page with a summary of the story of
Parashat: “מקץ”
– Mikeitz . We learned how much Yosef was faithful in Hashem. When Paro asked
him if he could interpret his dream, Yosef’s answer was that it’s not him, it
is Hashem’s interpretation.
This is our word list.
The quiz will be on Thursday 12/21/17.
