Dear Parents,
Our Purim celebration was a big success! We had so much “simcha” (happiness) all day! We wore costumes, we saw an amazing performance of the Megilah story by the 6th grade and we played games in the Purim carnival. At the end of the day, we received Mishloach Manot "
משלוח מנות" The whole day was such fun!
The Story of Purim
I am very happy to bring you a special story, familiar to us all,
the story of Purim!
So what is the big deal? Well, this one is missing words and your child filled in all of the missing words.
Purim- Tal Am Workbook
We also finished our Purim unit which includes the Megillah story about Esther and Mordechai and how they saved the Jews.
We learned a few Purim songs: ”Mishe Nichnas Adar (when Adar comes in - two different song), Hasipur Bamegillah” (The story in the Megillah), ”Letzan Katan Sheli” (My Little Clown), and “Leozen Haman Shalosh Pinot” (Hamentashen has 3 sides).

This week’s book is called:""משלוח מנות מאריאות -Mishloach Manot  from Ariot
Please encourage your child to read it aloud to you over the weekend. It is a great way to practice all the vocabulary we have learned and will learn.
Homework:
First grader are learning their vocabulary words very well.
There will be two days of homework instead of three days.
Therefore, the vocabulary test will be on Wednesday instead of Thursday.
